Test 30–You Don’t Own Me

“Test” means will the record companies and YouTube and WP allow this performance to be on my lowly blog.

I’m never sure how my mind works, but something tonight made me think of this anthem to pre-feminism by Lesley Gore. and the fact that her passing should certainly make it into the top of the ranks of “entertainers-who-should-not-have-died-in-the-last-year.” It’s not just the great message of this song, it’s the “rousing” way in which the chorus is delivered. The 1960s knew how to give us “rousing” choruses in hit songs:
