I don’t get it… (?) But I clicked the link and I don’t get that either, so… Meh. Whatever. Hope you’re having a good weekend.
It stole my reply to you, dammit, so now you get a shorter, easier-to-read version.
1. Trifecta is an internet writing contest, started about a year ago by a couple blogger/writers.
2. They have a weekly “Trifecta” and weekend “Trifextra” contest.
3. You win nothing but their mention in the next post (winner plus 2nd and 3rd place), plus the admiration of your fellow entrants.
4 During the week they want 33-333 words, usually having to include some word, such as “dwell” this week, exactly as written, not dwelled or dwelling, in your poem, story, whatever.
5. Trifextra, the weekend one, is often more free-form. 2 weekends ago I came in 2nd with my “Christian Mingle” when all they wanted was exactly 33 words of dialogue. (Oh, yeah, the weekend one is almost always exactly 33 words long.)
6. This weekend they want something, anything, which uses some hyperbole somewhere in the 33 words. I used more of it than anyone has EVER used. Or something.
Ohhhhh… Your hyperbolic breathy written gesticulations are awesome. I bow to your uber-greatness.
There you have it. It was a fun writing prompt.
I always enjoy your writing, prompted or not.
You’ve hit the jackpot with this entry! I counted 3 seconds reading yours.
I had tried to go for the big lie of it taking only 13 seconds to read all 70 or 80-some of the entries, but the 33 word count is too short to do anything with!
This is perfect! I love it!
Thank you! I think we’ll all only half-believe each other after this one, though!
Funny!
OMGSH your going to win the Nobel Prize for this!!!
-Seriously, I love it.
If it doesn’t win a newly-created Pulitzer Prize for blogging, I’ll just spontaneously combust!
This fleeted by in a flash…read just as you suggested. So very fun and funny!
So glad you liked!
lmfao I think I just died. xD
Thanks Draug. Good thing your own love of writing literally saved your life!
Three examples of hyperpole. How very Trifecta of you
I like to do it up right sometimes. Whoops, I mean do it up perfectly, always!
I’ve been tryperboleed!!!
I hope it didn’t try your sense of disbelief.
I tri-ed to read it in a trice but your fab piece sucked me in for a second & a third read;-)Great piece:-)
Thank you, glad it devoured you.
Ha!ha!It did:-)
Now that’s good!
Glad you liked!
You’re a brilliant writer AND a speed reader?!? I don’t like you anymore. *pouts*
Brilliant, huh? Oh, yeah it is hyperbole weekend. I bet there is a speed reader somewhere in the world who could read all these in 13 seconds total if they were printed out. The clicking of links is tedious though. And, speaking for myself, our attention spans are about ruined by net surfing, so one wants to just zip through these short ones. Thanks in any case.
Haha! Yeah, that. But your “sooner kiss a dead skunk” line truly made me laugh… out loud and even breathlessly for a few seconds.
Best part of Trifextra is the 13 second read
It is nice isn’t it?
Thirteen seconds! Loved this part.
Thank you Kelly.
Good one!
Thank you, Joe.
